University Work Placements

Crofton employs up to two university placement students each year at our London and Kent offices.

Undergraduates have the opportunity to sample life as an engineer in their chosen discipline, contributing to projects and expanding their industry knowledge. Many placement students return to the company to work full-time once they have graduated.

‘’During my placement with Crofton, I have gained a great deal of practical experience to support my prior studies at university. In particular, I enjoy thermal modelling of buildings, ventilation & heating design and lighting design. I appreciate being given the opportunity to work on projects across different sectors, and I enjoy seeing how a design grows into full completion from the initial paper design to finial building. Even though building services is a new industry for me, after working at Crofton I will give it serious consideration for my career.’’

“Whilst working for Crofton, I’ve been involved with a variety of projects including education and residential. One aspect of structural engineering I particularly enjoy is designing entire domestic extensions by myself, from roof to foundations. I have also enjoyed designing more civil based aspects like below ground drainage. So far, it’s been an invaluable experience and I am delighted to be part of Team Crofton.”
